Jubilees I

Here's a favorite classic of Canada: the Diamond Jubilee Issue of 1897.

This issue marked the 60th year of Queen Victoria's reign, and portrays the queen in 1837 and 60 years later in 1897.

The values in the set are 1/2c, 1c, 2c, 3c, 5c, 6c, 8c, 10c, 15c, 20c, 50c, $1, $2, $3, $4, and $5. Collect all sixteen values and you'll have a lovely colorful set!

All four stamps shown above were canceled at Quebec on September 13, 1897.
