Ethiopia sports

Here is marathon runner Abebe Bikila (1932-1973), the Olympic marathon champion of Ethiopia.

He won the gold medals in both the 1960 and 1964 Olympics.

In the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome he ran the marathon barefoot!
